Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to the Incipit app (hereby referred to as "Application") for mobile devices that was created by Data Cube (hereby referred to as "Service Provider") as a Freemium service. This service is intended for use "AS IS".

Information Collection and Use

The Application requires an internet connection to generate conversations: your messages are sent to the Service Provider's backend, and to a third-party AI provider, in order to generate a response.

No Personal Data: The Application does not require any account creation, email address, name, or authentication (such as Google or Apple Sign-In). Your device is identified by an anonymous identifier generated locally and stored in your device's Keychain.

Conversation Content: When you send a message, its content is transmitted to the Service Provider's backend and to OpenAI's API to generate the author's reply. The full text of your messages is not stored on the Service Provider's servers beyond what is needed to produce the response. Short excerpts quoted by the AI in its replies may be retained, associated with your anonymous device identifier, solely to verify the accuracy of citations.

Purchase Data: If you purchase the "Total Access Pass," RevenueCat processes the transaction and links it to your anonymous device identifier so the Application can unlock content on any device signed in to the same App Store account.

Technical & Usage Logs: To ensure stability and measure usage (e.g., which author was used, error logs), the Application's backend keeps anonymized technical logs associated with your device identifier — never with your name or Apple ID.

Third-Party Services and Data Processing

To provide its core functionality and monitor performance, the Service Provider relies on the following third-party services:

OpenAI: Processes the content of your messages to generate the author's responses. Subject to OpenAI's API data usage terms.

RevenueCat: Manages In-App Purchases and links your anonymous device identifier to your purchase entitlement.

Supabase: Hosts the backend database (anonymized usage logs, citation checks, purchase entitlements) and serves the author portrait images used in the Application.

Railway: Hosts the backend server that powers conversations.

Apple App Attest: Used to verify the integrity of your device and prevent abuse of the service; no personal data beyond the device attestation is collected.

Data Retention and Deletion

The Application does not collect your name, email address, or any account-linked personal data, so there is no personal profile to retain.

Data tied to your anonymous device identifier (usage logs, citation excerpts, purchase entitlement) is retained only as long as needed for service stability and support, and is deleted upon request — contact support@datacube.fr to request deletion of data associated with your device.

If you uninstall the Application, your local anonymous identifier and any locally cached data are removed from your device; server-side data tied to that identifier can still be deleted on request as above.

Disclosure of Information

The Service Provider does not sell, trade, or share any user data. Information may only be disclosed:

As required by law (e.g., to comply with a subpoena).

When they believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect their rights or your safety.

Children's Privacy

The Application does not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from anyone, including children under the age of 13, as the app operates without user accounts or personal tracking.

Security

The Service Provider is committed to safeguarding your data. All communication with the backend and with third-party providers is encrypted in transit. While no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, industry-standard security practices are used to protect the anonymous data processed by the Application.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes by updating this page. Continued use of the Application is deemed approval of all changes.

Effective as of: 2026-07-25
